Welcome to our series of ‘people profiles’, highlighting the wonderful team at Waterloo Quay dedicated to ensuring our clients receive the best experience. Next up it's Yvonne Morrice!
What is your role, what does it include, and how long have you worked for WQ?
My role is domestic cleaner, I have worked at WQ for almost five years, and my work motto is: ‘something moves, you clean it.’
Are there any parts of your job that you spend more time on since COVID-19?
I spend more time cleaning toilets, kitchens and high touch points because I think that’s really important and of course all the door handles. We now do these several times a day.
What motivates you to do what you do?
I like a high standard of cleaning and I’m maybe a bit OCD with it, but I would never leave a job for someone to come in and think ‘who cleaned that?’ or say that something isn’t done right. So that motivates me.
What do you do when you’re not working?
Well, I go to my mum’s and clean, I go to my sister in law’s and clean there, and at the weekend, I do my brother’s washing, ironing and deep cleaning. But I also spend a lot of time with my family. We’re a big family and we’re very close, so every Saturday, we all go to my mum’s house. It’s a bit hectic, but because everyone’s so busy working nowadays, we’ve got that Saturday for a catch-up. I also do a lot of walking around Aberdeen.
